The challenge
A European fintech startup came to us with a dashboard their own team had outgrown. Every new feature took weeks to build, the interface felt dated next to newer competitors, and slow load times were quietly costing them signups. They needed to move faster without rewriting everything twice.
The process
We started with a short discovery to map the real bottlenecks — in the codebase and in the team's workflow — and agreed the scope before touching code. Design and engineering then worked as one team: we designed the interface and the data architecture together, so nothing was lost in handoff. We shipped in weekly slices, each one demoed live, so the client could steer as the product took shape rather than waiting for a big reveal at the end.
What we shipped
- A fast, modern React front end, rebuilt from the interface down
- A reusable design system the in-house team could keep extending
- A data layer built to handle real trading volume
- Documented handover, running in the client’s own accounts
The impact
- Shipped to production in 6 weeks
- Time-to-interactive cut by more than half
- New features shipped in days, down from weeks
